  • Provide legal counsel, guidance and solutions to clients on commercial property and residential investment
  • matters.
  • Assist the department as a whole in meeting its fee earning targets by providing help, advice and assistance to clients of the department as well as other departments of the firm.
  • Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to structure commercial property transactions effectively.
  • Draft and review legal documents.
  • Identify any legal obstacles or concerns that could impact transactions and work to resolve them.
  • Stay up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to real estate financing in the UK.
  • Ensure that all transactions adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
  • Supervise junior staff where necessary.
  • Assess potential risks associated with commercial property deals and provide strategic advice to clients on risk management and mitigation.
  • Demonstrates consistent willingness to become involved in activities of the firm, including marketing, outside of normal working hours.
  • Is developing a client/referrer base and/or appreciates and identifies opportunities to refer work to other departments.
  • Promotes good file management.
  • Understand the importance of time recording and financial control with particular regard to cash-flow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently without non fee-earner support.
  • Undertake other duties as from time to time required.
  • Assist during the absence of other fee earners.
  • Wants to be part of a dynamic commercial property team, which spans 5 offices, and genuinely contribute to the positive development and success of the firm.

To be successful in this role, we are seeking the following:

Qualifications

A good honours degree followed by LPC, training contract and PSC /or a good honours degree followed by SQE and qualifying work experience/ or a good honours degree with CILEX to Fellow level, LPC and PSC, and admitted by SRA as a solicitor.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Understands and adheres to regulatory and compliance procedures at all times.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and alignment with, the values of the firm (see below).

Desirable knowledge, skills and competencies

  • Prior knowledge of Practice Evolve or other practice management systems.
  • Familiarity with Practical Law and LexisNexis.
